YASKAWA – Sigma 7 Servo Drive

The development of the new Sigma-7 series focused on three main goals: consistently fast commissioning, high production output and maximum operational reliability. The series offers a powerful response to today’s market requirements for both machine constructors and final customers in the production industry. Sigma-7 offers particularly great potential for packaging plants, semiconductor manufacturing, wood processing and digital printing machines.

Specifications & Features

Common-bus power configuration allows the amplifier to capture regenerative power, decreasing total energy use. Plug-and-play MECHATROLINK-||| functionality means fast 100 Mbps network communication, plus the ability to control up to 62 network slaves. Bandwidth of 3.1 kHz improves cycle times and minimizes settling time, significantly improving system productivity.

Yaskawa’s advanced set of servo tuning algorithms assure world class vibration suppression, removal of ripple and friction effects, improved autotuning, and tuning-less commissioning right out of the box.

  • The same SERVOPACKs are used for both Rotatary Servomotors and Linear Servomotors.
  • Acommand option module must be attached to the Command Option Attachable-type SERVOPACK for use. Refer to page 283 to 306 for details.
  • FTB2 SERVOPACK {model: SGD7S.[][][][][][]A[][][]F82[]} interface is supported only be an INDEXER Module {model: SGDV-OCA03A}.

  • The BTO specification indicates if the SERVOPACK is customized by using the MechatroCloud BTO service. This service is available on the e-mechatronics website. You need a BTO number to order SERVOPACKs with customized specifications. Refer to page M-15 for the details on the BTO service.
  • You can use these mpdels with either a single-phase or three-phase power supply input.
  • If you use the SGD7W-5R5A with a single-phase 200-VAC power supply input, derate the load ratio to 65%. An example is given below.
  • If the load ratio of the first axis is 90%, use a load ratio of 40% fort the second axis so that average load ratio for both axes is 65% ((90% + 40%)2 = 65%).
